Finhaut is an excellent base from which to explore both the Swiss canton of Valais and the Chamonix-Mont-Blanc valley.

The region is particularly popular for its spectacular scenery, its numerous hiking trails and its access to the Mont Blanc massif. Nearby, Vallorcine is the last French village in the Chamonix valley before the Swiss border and provides access to the Balme ski area, amongst other things.
